Doff N’ Donner Compression Stocking Aid

Sigvaris Doff N Donner aids in donning compression stockings and support hose. Can be used alone or with a cone device to ease loading. Each item (Donn N Donner & Cone ) can be purchased separately or as a kit.

The Doff N Donner is a soft donning device that allows you to quickly guide a compression sock or stocking up and down the leg or arm, making it simple to don and remove all styles of graduated compression. Ideal for those with limited dexterity and fits a variety of body types. Works well for self donning and caregiver use.

The Cone is a device that acts as a loading devise and makes it easy to roll stockings onto the Doff n Donner. The base has a suction bottom that holds it in place on any clean flat surface. This is an optional addition to the Doff n Donner and makes preparing to use the Donner even easier.

 Features:

  • Works well with all styles of graduated compression

  • Quick application and removal of compression stocking

  • Cone allows for easier prep time and makes the Doff n Donner easier to use

BODY FUNCTIONS AND STRUCTURES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESSFUL USE OF DOFF N DONNER:

  • Bilateral Intact Upper Extremities (UE’s)/arms (Doff N Donner used without the cone)

  • Level of Upper Extremity (UE) strength in one UE sufficient to hold UE high enough against gravity while:

1.     Placing stocking on arm

2.     Placing Doff N Donner on arm over stocking

3.     Rolling stocking over Doff N Donner

4.     Rolling prepared Doff N Donner back down arm

  • Sufficient Upper Extremity (UE)/hand strength in one UE/hand to:

1.     Place stocking on opposite arm and push it up

2.     Place Doff N Donner on arm over stocking

3.     Roll prepared Doff N Donner back down arm

  • Intact sitting balance to hold self upright while using Doff N Donner on arm

  • Intact sitting balance/ability to bend over to reach foot/feet OR

  • Sufficient hip and knee range of motion (ROM) to lift Lower Extremity/Extremities (LE/LE’s) up towards hands

  • Sufficient lower extremity (LE) strength to lift LE(s) up towards hands

  • Level of cognition to learn new information and use device

  • General problem solving skills

DEFICITS THE DOFFER DONNER COMPENSATES FOR:

  • Weak grasp that prevents independent application (donning) of compression or support stockings
